Fletcher's Park City

Fletcher’s Park City Restaurant Review

Location

You will find Fletcher’s right in the heart of Downtown Park City. It is located on Main Street next to the Park City Fine Art Gallery. Main Street is filled with fine dinning restaurants, upscale boutiques, and one of a kind bars. Fletcher’s is open every night for dinner starting at 5:00pm.

Type of Restaurant

Fletcher’s is an upscale restaurant, dishing out farm to table food. Chef, Scott Boberek utilizes simple recipes to highlight fresh ingredients. The restaurant is inspired by a dog named Fletcher. Fletcher is a great dane with a big heart, that wants to make everyone happy. On the front of all paper menu’s is a heartful story about Fletcher and his life journey. Owners, Sue and Steve Demarest are entrepreneurs at heart that want to bring smiles to people’s faces with healthy food, unique cocktails, and live music. Their sole purpose of this restaurant is to make people happy. It is clean, clear, and that simple. Fletcher’s delivered, we had a delightful time and left with smiles on our faces.

Fletcher’s Downstairs Lounge

The Downstairs Lounge is a great place to have a drink and share small plates with friends and family. Fletcher’s hosts events and live music in their lounge. Fletcher’s spans three stories tall with two bars. The Downstairs Lounge currently holds additional seating for dinner service. It has great ambiance with mood lighting and cozy seating. You must be 21 and older to enter the Downstairs Lounge.

Fletcher’s Menu

Fletcher’s dinner menu is limited with only eight entrees to chose from. Half of the entrees being steak options. One of the first restaurants, that gave us paper menus and did not present the menu with a QR Code. Fletcher’s may want to rethink their menu design. I found it hard to read with an odd laid out. There is only one appetizer listed in the beginning category. Entrees and small plates are mixed together, with the entrees shaded in grey. At the restaurant, the menu’s were not printed properly and it was difficult to determine which were small plates and which dishes were entrees. The menu has gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian options.

All steaks on the Fletcher’s menu are 100% grass-fed imported from New Zealand. Our friend in our dinner party got the New York Strip and it looked delicious. A fatty at 12oz and cooked perfectly to medium rare, he said it tasted different in a very good way. The downside to the meat cuts is there are no sides that come with the dish, you have to order from their sides al la carte menu.

Fletcher’s is a family friendly restaurant with great dinner options for kids. The kids menu offers simple dishes like grilled cheese, pasta, and chicken fingers.

Drink Menu

With two full bars in the restaurant, Fletcher’s has a wine list to impress. Downstairs in the lounge you will find a small wine cellar full of their featured wines. The wine list has great variety, you will surely find something you enjoy. Ask your server for their opinion, our waitress was knowledgeable and helped us find our wine for the night. Wine by the glass starts at $11, bottles start at $45 and go up to $1000.

Fletcher’s has their own list of signature cocktails. Based on Owner’s Sue and Steve’s favorites, try their Pain Killer, Pomesecco Martini, or Winter Margarita. Their bartenders are fabulous and can make any drink upon request.

What I Ordered

Wine: Chateau Ste. Michelle Indian Wells Cabernet – Columbia Valley, Washington 2017 – $60

The Chateau Ste. Michelle Indian Wells Cabernet Sauvignon is a bold fruit forward red. Produced in Washington State, right at the Ste. Michelle Chateau. This wine has become an award winning state favorite, and is sold throughout the United States. Our waitress was knowledgeable, spoke with passion, and recommended this wine for us. Our table enjoyed an entire bottle over some childhood reminiscing and scrumptious food. This a great wine that pairs well with any poultry, steak, or pork.

Appetizer: Oyster on the Half Shell

Oyster on the Half Shell was one of Fletcher’s appetizer specials for the night. For $15 we got six oysters accompanied with classic toppings horseradish, lemon slices, and mignonette. I love trying new foods, I added a squeeze of lemon and mignonette to an oyster and sucked it out of the shell. I was very happy that I chose the mignonette. The acidic red vinegar and sharp shallot cut the fishy taste and mitigated the slimy texture.

Mushroom Chicken

Seared Breast, Fingerling Potato, Broccolini, Mushroom, Goat Cheese & Porcini Demi Glaze

I studied the menu before arriving and knew I was headed straight for the Mushroom Chicken. The goat cheese caught my eye and my entrée for the night was decided! I hate to say that I was a bit displeased with the dish. One large, bone-in chicken breast was served, while I was very happy with portion size, I was not happy with the cook. The chicken was a bit dry and over cooked, even with the bone in. The broccolini and fingerling potatoes were tender and perfectly cooked.

The two ingredients I was most excited for, I was disappointed in. The mushrooms were delicious but there were not enough. I searched and searched, and found only six small mushroom slices on top. When an ingredient is in the first word of the title of an entrée, I expect it to be a main ingredient. I’m not entirely sure where the goat cheese was incorporated in this dish but my guess was with the mushrooms. The tangy goat cheese flavor was not found at all. Even though there were a few disappointments with this dish, I still ate it all and enjoyed my dinner with loved ones.

Beef Short Rib

Stone Ground Cheese Grits, Asparagus & Mustard Demi Glaze

The beef short rib was absolutely delicious. The beef was falling apart, melt in your mouth, cooked to perfection. With 100% grass-fed beef, you can tell it was a well-curated cut of meat. Stoneground cheese grits caught my eye when looking at this dish. It is a unique choice for a starchy element at an upscale restaurant. They were New Orleans good, creamy with a hint of saltiness. The asparagus was cooked to al dente, I would add a splash of acidity to them with a squeeze of lemon juice. The fried carrots on top were unique and added the crunchy texture that this dish needed.

Fletcher’s has great dishes that are made with finesse and creativity. The portions are filling and well balanced. I will definitely be ordering this dish again when I come to visit!

Dessert: Smith Woodhouse Colheita Port 2000

Port wine: a sweet wine originating in Northern Portugal. I LOVE a dry wine and usually veer away from any sweet drinks. The Smith Woodhouse Port was a great finish to our dinner. Port is a rich wine, I split one with my boyfriend. Port wine is aged in a whiskey barrel, adding a smokiness to the fruity base notes. It is $20 a glass, which I think is a bit steep. One glass little goes a long way, I highly suggest splitting.

I will be coming back for the Mud Pie Dessert!
