The Best Gelato in Colorado found in Highlands Ranch, Colorado at Gelato & Co.
Location
Gelato & Co is located in a fun location of Central Park Highlands Ranch near Shake Shack and Rock Bottom Restaurant. This is a great location for the boutique gelato shop because it is near a large medical hospital and trendy restaurants. Gelato & Co is open daily from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
Aesthetics
Gelato & Co has an elegant modern design. The Italian coffee and treats invite you in with warm aromas and pops of color. The modern white glass cases allow the gelato and pastries to stand out. I loved the art on the walls with photos of kids enjoying their sweet treats. The stone fireplace adds a nice rustic touch of Colorado. There is a large amount of seating outside for customers to enjoy their cold treats on a sunny day. The shop sells t-shirts and sweatshirts with their logo on them, so you can rep your favorite gelato shop anywhere you go!
The Menu
Gelato & Co serves everything from gelato, coffee, pastries, and gelato mouse cakes. Their robust and strong Italian coffee has become quite popular amongst the Colorado population. Their famous coffee can be enjoyed in many different forms. The coffee beans are available for purchase so you can enjoy a cup in the comfort of your own home. Mari, (head pastry chef) and her team of three, meet on Saturdays to get their creative juices flowing and invent some fun delicious pastries. The pastries change weekly on Monday, with tiramisu being showcased every week.
Gelato Tasting
Gelato is softer and creamier than ice cream and allows for the flavor to really pop. Gelato is a bit healthier with less fat than ice cream. Each and every gelato flavor is made fresh daily in small batches to ensure the best product. At Gelato & Co Denver, you can taste up to 20 different flavors. Every other Tuesday the gelato flavors change depending on new inventive ideas, customer requests, and the time of year. The sorbets are gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan.
What I Ordered
Brownie Batter + Tiramisu Gelato – $4.50
The Brownie Batter gelato was rich in chocolate flavor. I love chocolate and coffee together, so the tiramisu was the perfect companion to the indulgent brownie batter gelato.
Dulce de Leche One Scoop Cone – $5.00
The dulce de leche gelato was creamy and had a nice mild caramelized flavor. This is a great flavor that pairs well with a crunchy waffle cone! One scoop was the perfect amount.
Peanut Butter Banana Cake – $6.00
We couldn’t leave the shop without tasting one of Mari’s famous pastries. I am a peanut butter fanatic so when I saw the peanut butter banana cake, I had to try it! The mouse was light and fluffy with a strong banana flavor. The dark chocolate glaze was gorgeously done and provided a hint of bitterness. I was searching for a bit more peanut butter flavor, but overall a tasty treat.
