Location
Brasserie Dubillot is a trendy restaurant located in the heart of Paris, France. This is an up-and-coming area with many fantastic restaurants and shops. Brasserie Dubillot is open every day from 9:00 AM to midnight. Reservations are highly encouraged as this is a popular restaurant.
A Trendy Authentic French Restaurant
This Nouvelle Garde owned restaurant invites you in with a stand-out entryway filled with flowers and a bright red Dubillot sign. When you first step inside Brasserie Dubillot, your eyes wander with the many colors and décor. This is a colorful restaurant with pink ceiling accents, turquoise walls, red chairs, green plants, multi-colored flowers, and a busy tiled floor. The main bar stands out with open shelving and bright red stools. Head up the whimsical checkered stairs, to find another bar and extra dining. I absolutely loved the ceramic water pitchers. We received a fish and thought it was very fitting because of our love for fly fishing.
The Menu
Even though the menu was in French, we navigated our way through. The French Brasserie offers authentic French food, everything from beef tartar to chocolate eclairs. Their cocktail menu is unique and fun in a small book with simple drawings of the featured drink. Brasserie Dubillot is the perfect date night spot for couples. The large shared platters are for a minimum of two people and are served family-style. The menu also has appetizers, salads, small plates, singe entrees, and desserts.
What I Ordered
Wine
Verre La Cuvee des Galets 2017 – €6.00
This red blend from the Rhone Valley of France was the perfect pick for tonight’s meal. The light-bodied red wine paired well with the red meat and chocolate éclair. We savored every last sip!
Cote De Boeuf De Salers A La Braise – €35.00/person
One of the most ordered dishes at the French brasserie is the Cote De Boeuf De Salers A La Braise (braised beef). There is a 2-person minimum, it is €35.00 per person and worth every euro! The dramatic braised beef comes out on a platter with the bone. The coarse sea salt is everything! The salt enhanced each meaty bite and made your mouth water.
Potato au gratin was served on the side which is thinly sliced potatoes broiled in a crème sauce. For a bit of green, a small simple salad was served on the side that added a freshness to this decadent spread. One of my favorite accompaniments to the spread was the caramelized onions. They added a nice punch of acidity and sweetness to the salty umami-filled meat.
The Best Bite: Sliced beef, topped with caramelized onions.
Chocolate Éclair – $8.00
You cannot leave a brasserie without a French pastry. One of my favorite pastries is a chocolate éclair and once I saw it on the dessert menu, I knew we had to order it. I have fond memories of éclairs from my baking course in college. Our pate a choux dough puffed up perfectly allowing for a pocket of the pastry cream to nestle inside. The chocolate éclair at Dubillet lived up to everything I had imagined. The choux was light and cradled the chocolate pastry cream perfectly. The chocolate glaze on top added a nice bitter-sweet note. To top it off were toasted pecans that added a nice crunch and nuttiness to the indulgent dessert.
