Five5eeds Park City, Utah Restaurant Review
Park City Location
Five5eeds is located at 1600 Snow Creek Drive, just North of the Park City Welcome Plaza. The location is great, because there is plenty of free parking and it is conveniently located right next to The Market, grocery store. Perfect for a one stop shop for brunch and a grocery haul. Five5eeds is open Daily 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM.
Five5eeds Park City – Aussie Inspired
Five5eeds is an Australian inspired restaurant serving elevated brunch dishes. The Australian food scene has made its way to Park City. Owners, Andrew and Tiffany Percy are originally from Melbourne, Australia. They love a good all-day breakfast café (brekkie) but found there were none in this small ski town, so they opened their own. The eatery is named after Andrew and Tiffany’s five children.
This is the perfect spot for a girls brunch or a afternoon date with your significant other. It is a casual place serving up elevated dishes that are unique and one of a kind. There is a quick grab and go coffee counter if you are in a hurry and don’t have time to dine in. I highly suggest dining in because the experience is well worth the time and money.
Five5eeds Park City Aesthetics
This brekkie is trendy, vibrant and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. I loved the décor of this restaurant! Every little nook and cranny was decorated with a fresh and creative eye. There is a Five5eeds feature wall, along with a organic plant display wall dividing the dining room allowing for privacy. There are small rooms for private parties that provide intimacy and seclusion. The one negative is that sound travels. It can become very loud with customers talking, dishes clinging, and coffee steaming.
The Menu
The menu pushes the limits and gets people out of their taste bud comfort zones. At Five5eeds breakfast is served all day long. Owners, Andrew and Tiffany Percy wanted their Brekkie restaurant as authentic to Australian cuisine as possible so they flew their head chef to the land Down Under. Five5eeds’ head chef was able to really grasp and understand the Aussie technique and flavors. Three words to describe their dishes; unique, creative, and vibrant.
The menu is easy to read and dishes are clearly labeled with any dietary restrictions. Most dishes can be altered to any request if you are looking for a vegan, vegetarian, or gluten free alternative. There is also a “Little Peeps”menu offering three dishes for the young kiddos; Mini Stack of Hot Cakes, Googie Eggs, Kids Burger.
Drink Menu
Five5eeds has a small drink menu but it sure does make for a hard to decision. All of their drinks sound so delicious. They offer a great selection of hot drinks including macchiatos, beet lattes, and other coffee specials. There are also many tea options. All tea is provided by the Art of Tea Company.
On a hot day, enjoy a cold drink from fresh squeezed orange juice, to cold brews, and smoothies. There are two smoothie options, I was very close to ordering the PBD Smoothie. PBD stands for peanut butter and dates. I LOVE peanut butter… to the point I will eat a whole jar with a spoon in one sitting. I opted for a Hans Kombucha instead but I will be back for that inviting smoothie.
What I Ordered
Hans Kombucha
Kombucha, the trendy health drink everyone has been talking about. What is Kombucha? Kombucha is a fermented black or green tea that is lightly carbonated. The bacteria and yeast from the popular drink offers probiotics, antioxidants, and may reduce risk of cancer and heart disease. The company Hans Kombucha all started in a dorm room by Hannah (Hans). She has made quite a mark with her “booch” bottles and now sells her product in Salt Lake City and outer parts of Utah.
Five5eeds offers five flavor combinations of Hans Kombucha. I ordered the ginger hibiscus, it was good but not the best kombucha I have ever tasted. I like it a bit more tart. The ginger hibiscus had a subtle flavor but I was happy with it and it paired well with my two savory brunch dishes.
Pulled Pork Benedict
This hearty Pulled Pork Benedict was absolutely scrumptious. Like all of their dishes, it was one of a kind and made with quality ingredients. There a mound of pulled pork on top of two thick slices of perfectly toasted whole grain bread. The barbecue pulled pork was tender and melted in your mouth.
Two perfectly poached eggs were nestled on top of the pulled pork, adding richness and a mild favor. If this meal wasn’t already unique enough, the hollandaise sauce is made with apple cider. The apple cider ads the perfect note of sour and tang to the rich sauce. One of my favorite things about this dish was the granny smith apple slices. They added the perfect crunch, freshness, and tartness that this dish was craving.
The Perfect Bite: Toasted crunch bread *with crust, pulled pork, tart apple sticks, all dipped into the apple cider hollandaise and egg yolk.
Savory Waffle & Chook
Chook is an Aussie term for chicken, but this is not your grandma’s version of the classic Chicken & Waffles. This is a one of a kind savory Chicken & Waffles. Two light and fluffy waffles are stuffed with chorizo, corn, and halloumi. Halloumi is an unripen cheese, that adds a tanginess to the savory waffle. The corn gives a sweet note and a fun texture, along with the chorizo adding a bit of spice.
The juicy and flavorful chook is perfectly fried in a light batter. The entire dish is drizzled with a spicy chipotle sauce. You better have some water or milk on hand because the sauce was quite spicy. There is no way of getting around it. If you do not like a lot of spice, I highly recommend asking for the sauce on the side.
