Jerusalem Restaurant Review
Location
Jerusalem Restaurant is located next to Denver University on the corner of Evans Ave and S High Steet in the Denver Metro area. Jerusalem is open daily from 8:00 AM to 12:00 AM Sunday through Thursday and 8:00 AM to 2:00 AM on Fridays and Saturdays. They offer takeout, delivery, and dine-in.
Type of Restaurant
Jerusalem is a Middle Eastern restaurant that has been in business for over 35 years. Owners Said and Urayb Wahdan immigrated to Denver, Colorado from Jerusalem. They opened the restaurant to spread their ethnicity and build a community. This is a unique restaurant that is a great change from the Colorado Brewery scene. The restaurant is in a small building with minimal outside design, but inside it is filled with intricate gold décor. There is a warm and welcoming feel when you walk into the restaurant. It is a simple restaurant with a great story and food. The service is top-notch and efficient.
Jerusalem Restaurant Menu
Jerusalem’s menu offers authentic Middle Eastern and Mediterranean dishes. Every item is handmade and is made from a traditional recipe that has been passed down from generation to generation through the Wahdan family. The menu is quite large but simple with traditional Middle Eastern and Mediterranean dishes.
“Jerusalem Restaurant prides itself in providing healthy, nutritional Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine in a relaxed, casual atmosphere with superior service.”
– Said and Urayb Wahdan
Price ($)
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Denver because it offers amazing food at an affordable price. Two people can easily eat here for under $25 including tip. Jerusalem Restaurant is a great late-night spot with cheap eats that will satisfy your late-night cravings.
Dessert Case
Jerusalem doesn’t just stop with savory dishes, they make homemade authentic Middle Eastern and Mediterranean desserts. When you first walk in, your eyes go straight to the glorious case of sweet treats. You will see traditional desserts like Baklava, Lamya, and Jalebi (Funnel Cake).

We wanted to try a little bit of everything from this Middle Eastern and Mediterranean restaurant. The Combination “Super Dish” is quite super with many delicious bites. This large plater was only $14.95 and easily fed Ben and I for lunch. The lamb gyro was one of my favorite bites of the meal. The meat was juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. The Combination “Super Dish” is a top dish to order with many different traditional Middle Eastern and Mediterranean staples.
Pita
Three words: hot, fresh, and pillowy. The pita pockets were AMAZING! We both made small stuffed pitas with the platter of fixings. The lamb gyro with hummus and Tabouleh salad was a great combination.
Baklava – $2.75
I couldn’t leave the restaurant without taking a piece of Baklava to go. Baklava is a traditional Mediterranean dessert that uses flakey filo dough layered with butter, cinnamon, honey, brown sugar, and pistachios. This wasn’t one of my favorite Baklavas I have ever tasted. I was so full from our large super platter that I ate my sweet treat later that evening. The baklava was extremely sweet and a bit dense.
Rating
This is a fabulous restaurant that offers authentic and delicious food at a great price.
