What we Ordered
House Red Wine – €6.00
We ordered the house red wine in a 500ml carafe. Europe offers great wine at a very reasonable price compared to the United States. The house red was dry and fruity, perfect for the fun cozy atmosphere and traditional Greek food.
Bread and Dips
House-made bread and dips are a great way to start any Greek meal. Nostimon’s homemade bread was thick and with great flavor and texture. There were two types of bread, brown and white. Two dips accompanied the homemade bread. One a house tomato sauce and the other a classic Greek olive sauce. Each added a nice freshness to the pull-apart bread rolls.
Lamb Meatballs – €8.00
The lamb meatballs were scrumptious. The kantaifi exterior was crunchy and fried to perfection. Inside was well-seasoned lamb that oozed with juices and flavor. They were served with housemade pistachio pesto. The pistachio pesto with quite different than traditional pesto. The pistachio created a chunkier and thick texture. I found it a little underwhelming and lacked flavor, but the lamb meatballs were so good that I didn’t care.
Lamb Fillet – €17.00
The lamb fillet was a large platter with tender and juicy lamb, grilled vegetables, sweet potato puree, and yogurt sauce. My mouth was watering when Yiota drizzled the thin yogurt sauce on top. This was a fabulous dish with a mix of texture, flavors, and temperatures. I particularly enjoyed the dark grilled artichokes. They were earthy and added a hint of bitterness to the indulgent dish.
Rabbit Main Dish – €13.50
Rabbit is a traditional Greek dish with Mediterranean additions of dried fruits, nuts, spices, and couscous. This gorgeous entree was served in a bright orange ceramic dish. The couscous, dried fruit, and nuts added great texture and sweetness. Two large rabbit legs with the bone rested on top. The meat was good but I really struggled with the small bones.
