Mount Dora is a the perfect weekend getaway located 45 minutes north of Orlando. This fast growing town has not lost its historic charm with one of kind restaurants, antique shops, and a festival filled calendar. Lake Dora sits right next downtown creating the perfect painted backdrop to this already artistic town. I have had the pleasure of calling this cute place home for a bit of time and this is my number one guide on the top things to do in Mount Dora.

1. Mount Dora Sunday Market
Every Sunday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM vendors line their tents in downtown Mount Dora. You can find a little bit of everything here from homemade snacks to home décor. I highly recommend stopping at the cannoli stand!
2. Explore the Boutique Shops in Downtown
Mount Dora has some of the cutest shops especially if you looking for those one of kind home décor pieces. This grid like downtown is a great place to grab a coffee from One Flight Up and stroll around. There is a year round Christmas Shop, Olive Oil Tasting Kitchen, and a ton of home accent stores. A few of my favorites include Papilio, Becker’s Best Shoes, and Checkered Moon.
3. Dinner at Goblins Market
One of the most charming, homey, and comforting restaurants I have visited, Goblins Market is a must visit when looking to book a special night out in downtown Mount Dora. Their restaurant is filled with eclectic décor accents, book shelves, and antique wood furniture. Don’t miss their upstairs bar and lounge area for tasty cocktail.
4. Lake Dora
Lake Dora is a large body of water located right next to downtown Mount Dora. This gorgeous lake offers a perfect opportunity for some sunshine filled activities. Premier Boat Tours is a great company to book your boat tours with. Their canal tour is awesome and you may even see some alligators. You can also tour the surrounding lakes with a seaplane ride booked through Jones Brothers Co.
5. Pisces Rising Happy Hour
After a day on the water why not continue your lake day with drinks at one of the best restaurants in downtown? Pisces Rising is a one of my favorite happy hours because of their scenic views of Lake Dora. Their variety of drinks at great prices is a no brainer. Don’t miss there busy time of 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM Tuesday – Friday and all day on Monday.
*I highly recommend ordering the fresh made focaccia bread with your drinks.
6. Renninger’s Mount Dora Flea Market
Renninger’s is a great place to visit if you are looking for some unique treasures. This large Antique Center and Flea Market spans 40,000 square feet and hosts over 180 booths offering a little bit of everything. Renninger’s Mount Dora is only open Friday, Saturday, and Sundays and the best time to visit is early in the morning to beat the heat and other shoppers.
7. Lunch at The Salted Fry
The Salted Fry is a casual restaurant dishing out 100% gluten-free indulgent bites from perfectly cooked hand cut fries to juicy sandwiches and homemade sauces. Their amazing location is nestled amongst the charming shops, weekly festivals, and large Lake Dora. Believe me when I say this is one restaurant you do not want to miss!

8. Go Berry Picking
Just outside Mount Dora are a ton of U-Pick Berry Farms. This a great activity to do with family because it is fit for all ages. Far Reach Ranch is a great spot to fulfill all of your berry dreams with fields of blueberries, strawberries, and blackberries. Grab a basket, your loved ones, and enjoy this relaxing adventure.
9. Mount Dora Seasonal Festivals & Events
Mount Dora is always hosting a festival or event making this a happening town that is popular amongst the weekenders. To keep up with the latest events, I highly suggest checking out Mount Dora Buzz for up to date event information. December is one of their most active months with Light Up Mount Dora and real sledding in the park!
10. Donnelly Park
Located in the middle of downtown Mount Dora is Donnelly Park. This is a wonderful park with pickle ball/tennis courts, an event pavilion, and green grass to lay a blanket out and enjoy a picnic. Many of the local events are hosted here because its convenient central location and stunning floral landscaping.
