Nestled in the heart of the historic district, Slightly North Of Broad boasts an enviable location that perfectly captures the essence of Charleston. Just a stone’s throw away from the iconic Broad Street, this charming restaurant welcomes you with its inviting ambiance and promises an unforgettable dining experience.

SNOB Concept & Menu

At SNOB, you’ll discover a delightful fusion of Southern comfort food and global culinary influences. The talented chefs draw inspiration from traditional Lowcountry dishes and infuse them with creative twists and flavors from around the world. It’s a place where old meets new, tradition meets innovation, and your taste buds will thank you for the adventure.

Slightly North Of Broad has a rich history that dates back to the early 1990s. Housed in a beautifully restored 18th-century warehouse, this restaurant has witnessed the evolution of Charleston’s culinary scene while retaining its timeless charm. Dining at SNOB is like stepping into a time capsule where the past and present converge, creating a truly unique atmosphere.

Now, let’s talk about the main event – the food! Slightly North Of Broad’s menu is a treasure trove of culinary delights.

Beef Carpaccio

Ah, the beef carpaccio at Slightly North Of Broad! Prepare to have your taste buds doing a happy dance and your tongue doing the tango of flavor! Picture this: thinly sliced, melt-in-your-mouth beef, adorned with a symphony of flavors. The zing of lemon, the sharpness of Parmesan, and the gentle kick of cracked black pepper all come together in a delectable dance on your palate. It’s like a culinary magic trick—how can something so delicate be bursting with so much flavor?

SNOB’s Shrimp & Grits

Get ready for a flavor-filled escapade with Slightly North of Broad’s award-winning shrimp and grits. This dish is a true Southern symphony, where plump and juicy shrimp do a tantalizing tango with creamy stone-ground grits. The house sausage and country ham add notes of smokiness and saltiness. It’s a match made in culinary heaven. My favorite part is the acidic tomato sauce that hovers over the creamy rich grits adding pizazz to each and every bite.

Daily Special: Pan-Seared Flounder

The star of the show is a delectable pan-seared flounder, its delicate flesh flaking apart with a fork’s touch. Nestled alongside are confit potatoes, cooked to perfection, their golden exterior giving way to a tender and buttery interior. Charleston local squash adds a pop of color and a burst of vibrant flavors that pay homage to the region’s culinary heritage.

A velvety roasted garlic cream drapes the dish, infusing each bite with a luxurious and savory essence. And let’s not forget the almond gremolata. This delightful concoction of toasted almonds, zesty lemon zest, and fresh herbs adds a bright and crunchy finish, elevating the dish to a whole new level of deliciousness. Get ready to savor each and every bite!

Southern Medley

Succulent and tender, the grilled chicken breast is accompanied by beautifully grilled zucchini (one of my favorite bites) and roasted eggplant, lending a smoky depth to the dish. Juicy tomatoes burst with freshness, adding a vibrant touch. A spiral of fragrant basil pesto brings a burst of herbal zest, enhancing the overall aroma.

The pièce de résistance, however, is the addition of goat cheese croutons, providing a delightful crunch and a tangy creaminess that perfectly complements the dish. Each bite is a harmonious blend of textures and flavors, making this entrée an irresistible choice for any discerning palate.

Chocolate Crème de Pot

After thinking we were stuffed to the brim, the dessert menu came around and we couldn’t resist.

The sinfully delicious velvety chocolate crème de pot was well worth it. This exquisite dessert is a symphony of rich, decadent flavors that will transport you heaven. With each spoonful, your taste buds will be seduced by the smooth, creamy texture that melts effortlessly on your tongue. The luscious chocolate embraces your senses, releasing a wave of intense cocoa goodness that lingers on your palate.
