Koh Phi Phi is a tiny island located in the middle of the Andaman Sea in between Krabi and Phuket, Thailand. This island is known for their pristine white sand beaches, turquoise waters, mountainous bays, and colorful dive sites. Getting To Koh Phi Phi Island
The best way to get to this touristy island is via ferry. You can catch a direct ferry from either Krabi or Phuket, with an average duration of two hours. Tickets can be purchased at any tourist stand in Krabi or Phuket. These are set prices so no need to haggle.
Once you can docked, you will be asked to pay a small fee to enter the island. This covers the work that goes into keeping the island clean and free of trash. You will then be greeted by many hotels that will escort you to your hotel and trolley your luggage for you.
*Do note there are no vehicles available on the island.
Traveling Tips
Many places are cash only so be sure to bring plenty Thai baht or a debit card to withdrawal money from one of the many ATMs on the island.
Most people on the island speak English and are helpful when trying to find a certain place.
Accommodation
There is really only one hotel that stood out to me on Koh Phi Phi Island and that is PP Princess Hotel. They offer a mix of budget friendly and upscale rooms, attracting a range of people. What is most attractive about this hotel is their infinity pool with views of the turquoise blue waters of Loh Dalum Beach, definitely one of the top hotel pools I have ever been to!
Where to Eat
Looking for a tasty and healthy breakfast, visit JaJa Cafe & Spice. Their special recipes and homemade treats are top notch and stunning. If you are looking for a simple budget friendly breakfast, head to Breakfast & Friends. This small corner shop serves good simple food all day, the women behind the corner is awesome!
Cosmic is an absolute must visit. They are open all day everyday serving a variety of food at a great price. We dined here almost daily during our time on Koh Phi Phi Island!
Don’t forget to try a Thai Pancake! These are crazy addictive and the perfect late night snack.
Things To Do on Koh Phi Phi Island
Koh Phi Phi offers some of the most stunning beaches I have ever seen. Enjoy a full on beach day, start by renting kayaks on Loh Dalum Beach and kayak to Monkey Beach. Bring a fun picnic lunch and your snorkeling gear to really enjoy the area.
Take the touristy hike to the two View Points on the East side of the island to capture the iconic shots of Koh Phi Phi island. This is a must when visiting Koh Phi Phi Island. Be sure to bring some cash with you as there is a small fee to enter the viewpoints.
Koh Phi Phi Island is home to some of the vest diving sites in the world. If you are feeling adventures get your diver’s certification. I got dive certified during my time on Koh Phi Phi Island and it was well worth the experience. I highly recommend Princess Divers. They have a great team that is fun, patient, and well trained.
