Falafelova Bistro – The Best Falafel in Prague!

Falafelova Bistro

Falafelova Bistro Prague Restaurant Review

Location

Falafelova Bistro is a Middle Eastern restaurant located in Prague, Czechia. We visited their district 10 location on Ruska street in Prague. The outside green trim stands out from the rest of the Prague buildings with a pop of color. Falafelova is open daily from 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM. Monday through Saturday and Sundays 12:00 PM to 7:30 PM.

Type of Restaurant

Falafelova Bistro is a casual quick-service eatery with a trendy design. The Falafelova location we visited was small with adorable décor that reminded me of an artsy atrium. Inside has an organic design with small plants, pops of color, and wood accents. There is an open kitchen where the chef works their magic and cooks up some of the best falafel. Falafelova offers dine-in and take-out options.

The Menu

The menu at Falafelova Bistro is quite impressive. Falafelova rises above the majority of falafel makers because of their inventive secret falafel recipe. Two of the most ordered items on their menu are the signature platters and the chicken gyros. You cannot go wrong with either pick because of their fresh high-quality ingredients and creative recipes. There are eight sauces to choose from that are all well-made and pair perfectly with soft falafel and freshly baked pita bread.

What we Ordered

Taster Meal – 189Kč ~ $8.66USD

The falafel had a light and fluffy interior with a flavorful crust on the exterior. What a great product! The hummus and baba ganoush were great accompaniments to the falafel bites, but my favorite was the fresh labneh sauce. Labneh is strained yogurt with an extremely smooth texture. It added a nice contrast in temperature and a hint of freshness to the falafel. The salad was subtle and added a great filler to the many dips and fried bites.

Chicken Gyro + Sauces – 125Kč ~ $5.72USD

The chicken was well seasoned and juicy. I loved creating my own gyro with all of the accompaniments. One of my favorite bites of the evening was the chicken dipped in the mango chili sauce. The sauce added a hint of sweetness and spicy to the juicy tender chicken bites. We also tried the tzatziki and green chili sauce. The tzatziki was not my favorite, I felt it was a bit too runny and lacked flavor, but the green chili was amazing. There was a strong punch of freshness without being overly spicy.

Knafeh Dessert

It was my first time trying the knafeh and wow was it delicious. Knafeh is a traditional Arabic dessert. It is served hot with warm mozzarella, spun crispy pastry bits called kataifi, sweet orange-flavored syrup, topped with crunchy pistachios. This was unlike anything else I have tried! The mozzarella adds a layer of velvety texture that soaks up the warm floral sweet syrup. The crunchy shredded pastry bits took up about half the cup, which I was not mad about because of the fun texture it added. Lastly, the pistachios added the perfect crunch and a salty nuttiness to the decadent dessert.
