Sushi Night at Sakale Madrid Restaurant
Location
Sakale is located in the center of Spain’s bustling capital of Madrid. This hidden gem is a few blocks from the city’s most popular Sol Square. You cannot miss this trendy one-of-a-kind restaurant with its bright turquoise colors and wafting smells of fresh sushi. Sakale is open daily serving lunch and dinner.
The Concept + Menu
Sakale is a fun and inventive Japanese restaurant with a tropical theme. Walking into Sakale you are taken to a beach oasis with palm leaves, wood tables, and an open bar. On the main level, there are numerous seating options fit for a fun evening out with friends. Downstairs offers another bar with a sign I cannot agree with more, “Sushi Yes, You Maybe”. Sakale’s menu offers a mix of flavors with an emphasis on sushi and with over 21 rolls, you will surely find one that fancies your taste buds.
What We Ordered
Gyozas + Edamame
Steamed and seasoned edamame is a fun healthy appetizer and Sakale brings a hint of heat to theirs! The gyozas (Japanese potstickers) are absolutely stunning and pack a punch of flavor. One order comes with three fried and three steamed, both of which are incredible bites.
Sushi Rolls
Kraken Maki
Rice | Crispy Prawns | Chives | Avocado | Cream Cheese | Crispy Tempura Crab
My favorite roll of the night! The Kraken Maki is a bite I will always remember. This prawn-filled roll is topped with crunchy deliciousness. The crispy seasoned tempura crab tasted like glorified BBQ chips. They added great texture and copious amounts of flavor.
Fantasy
Rice | Tuna | Avocado | Cucumber | Volcano Salad Mix
Naked
Tuna | Salmon | Crab | Avocado | Wakame
Have you ever had a naked sushi roll, no rice, just protein goodness? I absolutely loved this unique roll, it was filled with fresh tuna, salmon, crab, and avocado. A mix of surimi, wakame, and Masago forms the fresh green wakame salad atop, adding texture and pizazz.
