Top 10 HelloFresh Meals – Which One is your Favorite?

HelloFresh: the famous Meal Kit Delivery Service everyone has been trying. I have been enjoying HelloFresh for dinner three times a week for the past six months. I love HelloFresh. It is such a treat to come home with dinner already planned out and a recipe to easily follow. These are my top HelloFresh meals and why I enjoyed them so much. I cannot wait to soak my taste buds into more scrumptious meals from HelloFresh.

Sweet Chili & Soy-Glazed Meatballs HelloFresh Meal

Definitely one of my top HelloFresh Meals! The Sweet Chili & Soy-Glazed Meatballs is an easy dish and full of flavor. This is a calorie-smart meal with a Ginger Ponzu Veggie Stir-Fry base. There is not a lot of carbs which I love! It is a great portion and fills you up. All of the different veggies were fresh and cooked perfectly. The meatballs were juicy and oozed with flavor. This is one tasty meal that pairs well with a cold glass of Pinot Grigio.

Mediterranean Salmon HelloFresh Meal

The Mediterranean Salmon is one of my absolute FAVORITE HelloFresh Meals. This dish introduced me to French Couscous. French Couscous is one of the easiest things to make – boil some water, add the grains, cover, TURN OFF the heat, and let it cook! Simple as that. Salmon is full of protein, Omega-3, and B-vitamins providing great nutrients to this dinner. HelloFresh delivered 10 ounces of Atlantic Salmon, which was in great shape. It comes with a side of fresh green beans and absolutely delicious cream sauce for garnish on top. A healthy dish to make at home and great for a date night dinner!

Mushroom and Herb Shepherd's Pie

Mushroom & Herb Shepherd’s Pie HelloFresh Meal

We ordered the Mushroom & Herb Shepherd’s Pie a few times and each time it surpassed our expectations. If you like mushrooms, this is the dish for you! HelloFresh delivers a large package of mushrooms, that are to be quartered and sautéed.

This is a vegetarian dish so we added some chicken to our pie. The chicken added some needed protein and texture. The hot creamy mashed potatoes are laid on top of the tomato and the vegetable mixture it is absolute perfection! I highly suggest using a cast iron skillet to bake this dish in. It adds flavor and crisps the base around the edges. While this is not one of the most healthy meals, it is a warm and comforting dish on a cold winter day.

Cherry Balsamic Pork HelloFresh Meal

One of HelloFresh’s classic meals; Meat, Starch, Vegetable. The Cherry Balsamic Pork reminded me of the holidays with warm herbs and cherry reduction. Pork tenderloin can easily be overcooked but by following HelloFresh’s recipe this pork turned out juicy and flavorful. An easy balanced meal that fills you up with only, 570 calories.

The cherry reduction was something new and different. It added great acidity and sweetness to the savory meal. The roasted broccoli florets were perfectly cooked along with the fingerling potato wedges. A baked sweet potato would also be great with this warm dish if you wanted to change it up and add your spin to it! If it’s a small Thanksgiving year with just you and your spouse, this would be a great meal. It is easy to make and perfect for a two-person Thanksgiving.

Black Bean & Poblano Flautas

This is such a filling, tasty, and easy dish! A recipe we did not pick but was thrilled it came in our HelloFresh delivery. A simple dish to make in 30 minutes or less. It is hearty and you can easily make it your own. We added pork to our Flautas, making them too big to roll into small burritos like the photo, but our handheld tacos were just as good.

There was tons of flavor built into this dish with the poblano pepper, southwest spice blend, and homemade Pico de Gallo. There was pre-made fresh guacamole delivered with the meal, which was absolutely delicious. Each serving comes with three tacos, we each ate two and were stuffed! The leftovers were perfect for a quick lunch the next day.

Sweet Potato & Pepper Pita Pockets

What a fun and unique dish! The Sweet Potato & Pepper Pita Pockets was not one of our meal choices, HelloFresh chose this dish for us and we were so happy they did. This HelloFresh meal was a highlight to our weekly dinners because it was something new and different. The recyclable brown bag was filled with fresh vegetables; sweet potato, green pepper, red onion, cucumber, and lemon. A very veggie-forward dish that fills you up and keeps you satisfied for the night.

A fairly easy summer meal to make, minus all the chopping but it is totally worth it. The cucumber salad is refreshing, acidic, and adds a contrasting temperature to the warm pita stuffed with cooked vegetables. The Shawarma Spice Blend brought everything together. I favorited this meal on the app by clicking the heart, we have not seen it pop up again on our weekly meal options. We can easily make this dish with the same ingredients bought from the grocery store and by following HelloFresh’s recipe.

Chicken Sausage Spaghetti Bolognese

Favorite HelloFresh Meals

One of my absolute favorite HelloFresh Meals, the Chicken Sausage Spaghetti Bolognese is easy to make and packs a powerful punch of flavor. The chicken sausage is one of the best parts of this dish, it carries a small amount of spice with an Italian flair. The zucchini was a bit small and not in the best of shape, so we added eggplant and yellow squash to the sheet pan. The eggplant was amazing, it added almost a nutty flavor and paired well with marinara sauce.

The tomato sauce was very good and simple, we omitted the sugar from this dish because we felt it wasn’t needed. We happily enjoyed this meal in our recliners while watching Hawaii Hunters on repeat. A good Cabernet Sauvignon is the perfect pairing to this yummy dish.

We enjoyed this dish on our Colorado Weekend Cabin Getaway. Read about our entire trip here: A Weekend Cabin Getaway on the Grand Mesa

Mushroom & Chive Risotto

The Mushroom and Chive Risotto is a favorite in our kitchen. The Arborio Rice takes a while to cook but once it is done it is luxurious, rich, and creamy. The aromatics (garlic and onion) add great flavor. Then comes the mushrooms bringing texture and a woody flavor to the bowl. The tomatoes are a great addition packing a punch of acidity and freshness. We added smoked polish sausage to increase the protein and add even more flavor.

You could even turn this into a Risotto Carbonara by adding peas and prosciutto. The options are endless! One of the best ingredients is the Garlic Herb Butter, it makes this dish a bit more guilty and indulgent. Even with the compound butter, this is a calorie-smart meal at 670 calories per serving. It is a bit more difficult to make but it is a great challenge and we get to learn something new!

Creamy Mushroom Risotto

Banh Mi Meatball Bowls

The Banh Mi Meatball Bowls were delicious and a treat! The siracha aioli was the perfect creamy element. We added just the right amount of siracha, a bit spicy on the tongue but not burning your mouth off. The acidic carrot and cucumber slaw was a perfect accompaniment to the spicy sriracha. I love a well-pickled vegetable slaw. I think HelloFresh should add another lime to the bag because there was not enough liquid to pickle the vegetables.

The soy glaze added a hint of sweetness and umami. Undercooking the meatballs was a great idea because they were flavorful and juicy. They were the highlight of the dish! The aromatic ginger folded in with the jasmine rice was a perfect base for this meal. The ginger adds a warm, floral, and spicy note to the basic nutty rice. This dish hits all flavors on the tongue with sweet, salty, bitter, sour, and umami.

Pork Sausage Rigatoni in a Creamy Sauce

This dish has comfort food written all over it. The Pork Sausage Rigatoni is all things creamy, warm, and flavorful. The rigatoni cradles the cream sauce and takes it for a ride in a mixture of sautéed peppers, pork sausage, and acidic lemon. This is a level 2 dish but we found it easy and quick to make, at just 25 minutes of total cook time. The pork sausage adds great texture and some needed protein. We added some additional vegetables to the mixture like yellow squash and zucchini (leftovers we had). This dish welcomed the additional vegetables with open arms.
