Concept & Menu

Monroe Restaurant caters to the lunch and dinner crowd with a variety of plates inspired from different regions of the world. Its retro, eclectic, diner feel is unique and trendy. Once the day turns to dinner hours, Monroe becomes a bit more elegant and refined. Their new menu makes your mouth water with the amount of delicious small plates that are offered. The menu is meant to invite people in from around the world and jazz up conversations with the mix of sharing plates offered.

The Meal

Sharing Plates: Kale Salad & Meatballs

The Kale Salad was one of favorite dished at Monroe Restaurant. Fresh kale is massaged and brought to life with a tofu miso ranch. Momotaro tomatoes and Japanese cucumber dance throughout the leafy greens adding a punch of freshness. The beef meatballs were a delicious surprise with a kimchi marinara sauce. It added acidic spice to the juicy meatballs, what a great bite with the salty shaved parmesan!

Main Course: Grilled Rump of Beef

200 grams of juicy grilled beef was for the main course and it did not disappoint! The salty marmite butter added a touch of Australian flare and the Japanese pickles brought in some acidity. This was a great dish that showcased Monroe Restaurants unique take on marrying different cuisines from around the world.

Dessert: Apple Crumble

For dessert we ordered the Apple Crumble, after all we are in a diner. The apple crumble was to die for with a homemade oat crumble, tart granny smith apples, and vanilla ice cream a-la-mode. The warm oat crumble was definitely the star of the dish evoking sweetness, nuttiness, and saltiness.
