1. Top Tourist Attraction in Singapore – Gardens by the Bay
This can’t be a Singapore DIY Tour 2022 without the top tourist attraction of Singapore. Gardens by the Bay will exceed your expectations with the many magical things to see and do. Start your tour at the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest, these are magical places filled with flowers and plants. Its like you have escaped to the set of Alice and Wonderland!
Once you are done touring the domes make your way to the Meadows. Be sure to stop at the FREE Singapore attractions including the Floral Clock, Cactus Gardens, Big Fish Aquarium and Kids Garden on your way. You will now you have made it to the Meadows once you have come to a large open area with lush green grass and interesting trees on a hillside. This is a great spot for a picnic, play some soccer and hangout.
To end the night, head towards the main attraction – The Supertrees. I highly recommend purchasing tickets to walk along the sky walk to fully grasp the beauty of these magnificent arts of work and also get some of the best views of the city. Book your tickets around sunset to get the best views! Once done taking it all in enjoy the Supertree light show from the ground. This is one thing that will make you say, “wow how is this real life?”
2. Where to Shop in Singapore – Marina Bay Sands
Marina Bay is one of Singapore’s most iconic buildings. Inside this large three column piece of art you will find a ton of high end shops, upscale restaurants, a casino, and a full hotel. There is an observatory deck on the top to get some magnificent views of the city. Rasapura Masters is a large food court with some delicious bites. We enjoyed some of the best Kopi and Kaya Toast here, along with shrimp dumplings and wanton soup. 10/10 recommend!
Every night at 8:00PM and 9:00PM there is the FREE Spectra Fountain & Light Show that takes place in the middle of the marina. This isn’t your normal fountain show, Singapore goes above and beyond with their innovative use of lights, reflections, water, and colors. It is a truly amazing show and with Singapore’s dramatic cityscape painted in the background.
3. Singapore Photo Spots – Merlion Fountain
This may be one of the bigger tourist spots but people flock here for a reason, it offers 360 views of this stylish city. The Merlion fountain stands tall with water pouring out. Here you get views of the water, Marina Bay Sands, and the stunning cityscape. From the fountain take a walk around the marina on Singapore’s lovely path with bikers and joggers passing by.
4. Where to eat in Singapore – Chinatown
Chinatown is one place you cannot miss on your Singapore DIY Tour 2022. The food, the people, the culture, is all so immersive, fun, and a great change. Chinatown Food Complex offers some of the tastiest bites from mala hot pots, seamed buns, hand rolled dumplings and more. At night Chinatown lights up colorful lights, lively bars, and people strolling through the streets.

What better way to see the city glistening at night than on the water?
7. Things to do in Singapore with Friends – Food Markets
One of my favorite things to do in Singapore with friends is visit the food markets. Lau Pa Sat is one of the largest and conveniently located amongst the tall skyscrapers. This large market offers cuisines from around the world and tons of different beer. Lau Pa Sat is known for its satay street, they block off a whole street with satay vendors smoking their meats in the open air. Another great spot for tasty Singapore bites is the Newtown Food Market. You may recall this market from the movie Crazy Rich Asians.
8. Places to Visit in Singapore for Free – Singapore Botanical Gardens
Save some money on your Singapore DIY Tour 2022 with one of the best FREE things to do in Singapore, the Botanical Gardens. This may be a bit out of the city center, but it is a great change in scenery and pace. Pack a fun picnic, layout a summery blanket and enjoy the nature. There are endless paths to explore with flowers, trees, ponds and more. One of my favorite areas is Swan Lake with rolling hills, vibrant flowers, and graceful white swans.

Museum of Ice Cream is a fun whimsical place that showcases the history, art, and variety ice cream has to offer.
